Malcolm and Mary Eileen Roman
This is Tom Roman from the class of 1968. My mom, Mary Eileen Roman, died in May, 2007 due to cancer and she had Alzheimer's Disease. It was the cancer that took her life. We were very close throughout the years until I became very ill myself and, thus, coudn't visit with her. Not being able to visit with her while she was able to communicate with me has broken my heart. It is my ongoing (this is 2010 and she died in 2007)and deepest regret that because of an illness that I had at the time that I was not able to see and talk with mom while she still would be able to recognize and talk with me. I know that it wasn't my fault that I couldn't talk with her because of my illness, still the fact remains that valuable time was lost due to my illness. Because of my own illness, I didn't know how close to death that she became. My wife, Judy, and I were in Midland, Texas, when we received a call from my brother-in-law telling me that mom had died. Again, to this day, I wish that my own illness had not made it impossible for me to see and talk with her when she would have been able to communicate with me. I miss her still and my regret is ongoing.
My daddy, Malcolm Edwin Roman, Jr. passed away in the very early morning hours in January, 2010 due to natural causes. I have no regrets due to the fact that daddy and I stayed very close throughout the years and remained so until his death. Daddy was wonderful. I miss him. Mom and daddy were at all of the choir performances, plays, and musicals that I was involved in at W.T. White. They have been reunited in Heaven. They are also with the Lord, Jesus Christ. Yet, I miss them both.
